Ruth is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, with a background in public relations, whose lifestyle articles and columns appeared regularly in major magazines worldwide for over 20 years.

Ruth's second career as an infidelity expert grew out of her personal experience as an infidelity victim when she accidentally discovered her now ex-husband's affair. What began as a fact-finding mission has since become her life's work.

Over the past 18 years, Ruth Houston has interviewed between 8000-10,000 people about various aspects of infidelity, including cheaters and infidelity victims, both male and female, marriage counselors, divorce attorneys, and private investigators specializing in infidelity investigations. (Ruth stopped counting in 1996 when her interviews reached the 3000 mark, but her research still continues.)
