In an urban dictionary, the word ohana means no body gets left behind. As a meta- story, this can also include a close group of friends or class that resemble a family. In the classroom, in this sense becomes the opportunity of leaving no one behind. As a course of action this is our greatest opportunity, but often educators feel overwhelmed and undersupported.

Beyond issues here and now, attendees will find resources to build or evoke a unifying culture where learning is stmulated through the power of voice, music and storytelling.

Visual and Performing Arts Standards describe interventions that transform a classroom into an experiential space where for a short time children and teens can look at their world a new way. Although at work, it is not always possible to find a safe place to find out how to make such rubrics and scaffolding come alive and practice, at this conference, it's the perfect place to ask questions and find tools to make such practicum come alive.

connect you to colleagues and build new content, new technique and new repetoire to make learning an adventure and renew a sense of community through singing, inspiring youth, and stimulating learning.
