John Hersey International initiates a leadership award for a local high school student who has demonstrated Contagious Leadership principles

Fountain Hills, Ariz. – John Hersey, Founder and Beverly Belury, Managing Partner of John Hersey International have initiated a 2010 Contagious Leadership Scholarship Award. The criteria to qualify is that the recipient must be a local high school student who has dramatically demonstrated one or more contagious leadership habits such as recognizing others, excellent communication, mentoring others, taking a passionate stand, coming from possibility, having a 'can-do' attitude.

The Golden Eagle Foundation was established in 1992 and will administer the Contagious Leadership Scholarship Award. By reducing financial barriers, the foundation assists in students developing their academic and leadership promise. The Golden Eagle Foundation is a nonprofit coalition of residents bringing together the business community, parents and other dedicated residents to further their mission which is to enrich the educational experience of Arizona students of Fountain Hills, Fort McDowell Yavapi Nation, and the communities of Rio Verde and Tonto Verde by generating funds for scholarship and innovative classroom activities.

International motivational speaker, John Hersey, sees the importance of lending a hand in developing the new generation of leaders. "Ultimately these kids will be running our country and we want to support their development as much as possible", comments Hersey.

Hersey began his successful career at 28 years old as the Vice President of Marketing for a $1 billion bank. Hersey moved ahead in his career at 34 years old as a Senior Vice President for top advertising agencies. Hersey helped Stanley Tools become a worldwide household name and led the company to worldwide acclaim.

As a result of the Contagious Leadership Scholarship Award, Hersey and Belury are directly working with the 'next generation' helping them embrace the qualities of the 'new' leader, the contagious leader.
